Welcome Home

We’re home!!! Ok, we’re technically still packing, moving, and have a ton of diy projects to get finished first, but it still feels so good to be home. Zach and I signed the final paperwork yesterday at noon and drove over to the house right after to grab the keys. We didn’t stay for too long since we had to get back to work, but we came back later with pizza, champagne, and a very excited Finn!

At one point while they were out in the yard, I went back into the house to look around. I was standing in the hallway when I heard the song I walked down the aisle to at our wedding playing over the bluetooth speaker in the kitchen, and in that moment it all hit me. This is our home. This is where our kids will grow up. This is the staircase where I’ll annoyingly make them stand to take pictures before heading off to school. And prom. And graduation. It’s pretty crazy standing in a space at 29 knowing so much of my life will be spent right here. We’ve always had an end date with the places we’ve rented before, but this time we know we’ll be here forever.

We’re heading back to the house after work today to get started on some projects and I can’t wait! We have so much work cut out for us, but we wanted a fixer upper with charm and that’s exactly what we got. I’m so excited to share all the ups and downs as we navigate our way through our home renovation journey!
