It’s week eight of the One Room Challenge which means it’s REVEAL DAY!!! My new family room is hands down the biggest project I’ve taken on, and I couldn’t be happier with the final result. I put my all into this space over the past eight weeks, and even though I did most of the work myself, it’s still hard to believe this is the same room I started with. As a reminder, here is how this room looked before:
Before completing the One Room Challenge, this was an area of my home I never spent time in. It was incredibly dark with one fluorescent light fixture, popcorn ceilings, wall paneling, old carpet, and a dark red tiled fireplace. Simply put, it was pretty ugly, but I saw potential for it to become a space I truly love spending time in. With a lot of hard work, late nights, and weekends, I’m so happy to say IT’S FINISHED!
I won’t keep you waiting any longer — here’s the reveal!!
The Rosemarie Rug by Loloi is absolutely stunning and the perfect color palette for my family room! It ties everything together so beautifully with shades of sage, blush, and cream, and it’s incredibly soft. I love the Loloi rugs in my living and dining rooms, and this one might be my favorite yet!
I’ve been a big fan of Loop Living since discovering Eli’s small business about a year ago. Her planters are beautifully handcrafted out of spun metal, and I was so excited to have them as a partner on my One Room Challenge makeover!
I love the Samsung Frame TV in my living room and decided to get another one for my family room. The artwork displayed here is Ruthie’s Meadow from Juniper Print Shop. They have so many beautiful digital prints to choose from, and you can easily upload them to your TV to instantly change the whole mood of your room!
This was my first time resurfacing a fireplace, and I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos to figure out what would work best. I used a quick concrete product called Ardex Feather Finish and I’m so unbelievably happy with how it turned out! If you haven’t read it yet, I have a blog post about the resurfacing process.
I was over the moon when HomePop reached out about partnering on our One Room Challenge makeover! I knew their Emerson Wingback chair would be the perfect piece for a small reading nook, and it’s such a comfortable spot to curl up with a book. The floor lamp for this corner was backordered and unfortunately didn’t make it in time for the reveal, but it’ll arrive in the next few weeks!
The built-in bookcase was another huge project in this room using IKEA Billy Bookcases and Oxberg Doors, but I didn’t have time to share much about it before the reveal. I’m planning to share the full step-by-step process in another blog post soon!
Some of my favorite decor pieces have to be these pillows from Layered at Home. They’re made from Turkish rugs and are one of a kind, making each one so special!
Thank you so much to my incredible partners who helped make this family room transformation possible! I couldn’t have done it without you:
And a HUGE congratulations to all of our fellow Fall 2021 ORC participants! Everyone worked so hard on their room transformations and the final reveals are absolutely beautiful!
